An Executive Directive was put into effect March 2008, requiring a 5% reduction in City-owned general purpose vehicles for 2008-2009. Additional fleet management measures include the availability of carsharing services, allowing for cross-departmental use, and the requirement for a City employee justifying take home usage.
Public Outreach and Education:
The Department of the Environment Clean Air Program developed a clean purchasing guide containing a list of approved clean, light duty passenger vehicles approved for purchase.
