how you can benefit

The largest source of pollution from greenhouse gas emissions from human activities in the U.S. is from burning fossil fuels for electricity.  Residents and businesses can save money by powering their buildings with clean electricity.

So LEAN Energy US provides policymakers with networking and consulting on Community Choice Aggregation (CCA) to save money by collectively buying clean electricity and using existing utility company power lines and customer service.

why it's a leading program

It is the only nonprofit that serves to bring clean energy CCA nationwide.

goal

To help policymakers create policies so residents and businesses can buy clean electricity as a group.

who can take action

Governments, businesses, nonprofits, and individuals can join as members.

outcome

As of 2015, six states have laws enabling CCA: California, Illinois, Ohio, Rhode Island, Massachusetts and New Jersey.
